Cycles
|
|
In
1979 when I wrote my first book Cycles,
Cycles, Cycles I included chapters on five different
types of cycles. As the years went by I continued to think
of many more cycles that children might want to know about.
I soon realized I had too many ideas for one book and eventually
created a series of four books that were published in 2001
and 2002. Unlike these first books, I did not create the illustrations.
Instead I am proud to have had them illuminated by the talented
artist Gustav Moore. For a concise book that presents the
basic idea of cycles, Id recommend Cycles,
Cycles, Cycles. For an in depth journey try the Cycles
series. |
Cycles, Cycles, Cycles
Using
delightful characters and line drawings, the author helps
develop an understanding of the cyclical nature of everything
around us. Different chapters touch on the apple life cycle,
the water cycle, the decomposition cycle and several others.

Earth Cycles
A lyrical
picture book about the cyclic moments of the Earth and Moon.
Lavishly illustrated by Gustav Moore.
From
School Library Journal:
"In easy-to-read but expressive
language, the author explains how different cycles result
in day and night and changes in time and seasons on Earth.
Attractive watercolor paintings enhance the text. The uncluttered
pages, many with white type on dark-blue backgrounds, will
be inviting to young readers. This title will be especially
useful for classroom units."
